At a town hall meeting in Texas, Representative Gene Green, D-Houston, decided to have people show identification cards to attend his town hall meeting. In past Texas Legislative sessions, Rep Green voted against voter identification bills and during this legislative session he would not support SB 362 either if it came before a House floor vote. This type of hypocrisy is exactly why I have decided to run for House District 85 in the 2010 election. The Democrats in their state convention in Austin in 2008, required their delegates to the convention to show identification before they would be allowed to caucus. However, when it comes to the general election, local election or any type of election where we, as voters, exercise our right to choose those that we want to represent our views, no voter identification is necessary. Is this not the pinnacle of hypocrisy. Texans deserve Voter Identification, Texans want Voter Identification, I want Voter Identification
